Blue & white stripy cotton cardi for yoshino is finally done!
I casted on in October last year, and casted it off yesterday. It took me ages to complete this project beacause I put it away for sometime to squeeze in some of other knitting & sawing projects on the way.
This was the first project in which I used 100% cotton yarn. The cotton yarn feels nice and soft, and it was fairly easy to handle. I used size 3JP (3mm) circular needle all the way. I cannot remember how many sts I first casted on. Oh, I didn't follow any particular pattern this time, I just went with my feeling for this project...
All I remember is;
1)I started from the neck and went top-down.
2)For the neck and each edges, I used seed stiches and simple stockinette stiches for the rest.
3)After the neck seed st rows, started the increase rows by kfb before and after the markers.
4)End the increase rows when reached underarm point (daughter tried the cardi and cheked where the point was). Leave the sleeves on unused yarns, and knit the body part down till desired length and cast off.
5)Using short circular needles, re-start sleeves and knit until desired length. Cast off.
Each edges start and end with blue yarn. The stripe consists of the repeat of 4 blue rows followed by 5 white rows. I made 5 button holes on the right front adges and saw on wooden buttons on the left front adges.
